I am currently an associate professor of Management Information Systems at Wake Forest University. In addition to my full-time, tenure-track appointment at the School of Business, I am also an associate at the Wake Forest School of Medicine's Biomedical Informatics Center and the Center for Healthcare Innovation.

My primary stream of research strives to understand how experts know how to coordinate, specifically when new information systems are introduced. I study these research questions in hospital settings, as hospitals are an excellent example of a modern organization dependent on teams of experts. Based on this research, I was awarded a three year NSF Graduate Research Fellowship while completing my PhD.

Many of my other research projects include examples of how technology impacts healthcare, including studies looking at the right infrastructure to support remote patient monitoring initiatives, the psychological impact of wearable devices, and how patients decide what type of medical information is credible online. More broadly, I am intrested in how users adopt and meaningfully use technology, and served as chair of the SIG-ADIT group in 2023-2024.

Jennifer Claggett

I thoroughly enjoy teaching and have experience with undergraduate and MBA students. I am especially interested in opportunities to introduce new data management trends to students; including unstructured data considerations, sentiment analysis, the challenges of “big data” and data mining, data analytics, and the importance of thoughtful data visualization solutions.
